Understanding Disability
- Disability beyond stereotypes
- Visible and non visible disabilities
- Cross disability perspectives
- Disability, identity and agency
- Moving from sympathy to empathy
A lived-experience-led disability inclusion experience that helps people understand disability, recognise barriers and rethink how inclusion can work in real life.
Through stories, real-world situations, cross-disability perspectives and immersive activities, participants don't just learn about disability. They explore how disability is experienced, where exclusion happens and what can be done differently
Awareness is important. But meaningful disability inclusion begins when people move beyond knowing about disability to understanding how it is experienced in real life.
Partners in Love & Change brings together lived experiences, cross-disability perspectives, real-world situations and interactive engagement to help participants see barriers differently, question assumptions and think about what can change.

Partners in Love & Change is shaped by the lived experiences of Himanshi Sardana and Rewant Katyal, a couple with disabilities and the co-founders of Decode Disability.
Their experiences bring a perspective that cannot be captured through definitions, checklists or assumptions alone.
Through real stories, everyday situations and different points of view, they invite participants to look at disability through the realities of navigating spaces, services, interactions and experiences.
The focus is not inspiration. It is understanding.
Two people can enter the same space and experience it in completely different ways.
One person may encounter a physical barrier. Another may face a communication barrier. Someone else may encounter an assumption, a process or an interaction that limits their choice or independence.
Through Himanshi and Rewant's different perspectives, participants explore:
Because there is no single "disabled experience", meaningful inclusion requires us to listen, understand context and move beyond assumptions.
Himanshi and Rewant don't speak for every person with a disability. They bring their own experiences into the conversation to open up questions, perspectives and possibilities for participants to explore.
Their journey becomes a lens through which participants can examine their own environments, assumptions and approaches to inclusion.
Explore everyday situations involving disability and inclusion. Question assumptions and consider how different responses can create different experiences.
Look beyond what is immediately visible to identify physical, digital, communication, behavioural and process-related barriers.
Follow a person's journey and identify where access, participation or independence can break down.
Look at the same situation from different disability, user and stakeholder perspectives.
Unpack a real-world situation to understand the barrier, assumptions, impact and what could have been approached differently.
Explore possible responses and identify where intervention can happen: communication, behaviour, process, environment, technology, policy or systems.
Identifying a barrier is only the first step. The next question is: what kind of intervention is actually required?
Different barriers require different interventions. The session helps participants move beyond generic advice and think about solutions according to the situation, person and context.
This is not an accessibility audit. It is an awareness, perspective building and intervention thinking experience.
Every organisation is at a different point in its disability inclusion journey. Partners in Love & Change can be delivered as a focused perspective-building session, a deeper immersive experience or a customised engagement designed around your context.
